Monday…

and the beginning of a brand new week.  It is 30 degrees right now and freezing drizzle.  Weather advisory is out for slick roads until 10 AM.

At least I have seen one sign of spring.  The ground behind my back door and the cemetery has been covered with dozens of robins.  I always feel good when I see a robin.  Other than the robins I haven’t seen any sign at all of spring.

Saturday afternoon I went to the 4th birthday party for my great, great niece.  Unfortunately after I had taken only 2 pictures my camera battery died.

004

It was a gymnastic birthday party.  The 2 young ladies led the kids in all kinds of gymnastics for an hour.  Not all of the kids had arrived yet when I took this picture.

002

The table set for the kids.  I feel sorry for the moms when they took the kids home.  They had cupcakes and cake and a bag of candy and another bag of goodies.  A lot of kids with a sugar high I think.  I saw one little red headed girl eat 2 cupcakes and a piece of cake and then get into the bag of candy.

This will be a lazy day for me.  Tomorrow I have 2 doctor appointments and Wednesday morning I have the crown on my tooth finished.  Not to wish my life away but I will be glad to see Thursday.
Have a great week.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. What a neat idea for a birthday party! I feel sorry for those mom's with sugered up kids. Been there done that :). It's snowing here today and the roads are slippery. I'm so sick of winter and was depressed when it started snowing again. I sure hope when spring and summer finally gets here that it hangs around for a long long time and is nice all season long. Is that too much to ask for? :) Well have a good day Beth and take care...Hugs!

  2. I suppose the hosts of the party thought some of that sugar high might be used on the gymnastic activities.:-) Our little granddaughter has quite a sweet tooth.

No icy conditions here. We have wind and the chance of rain before the day is over.

    Have a good Monday!

  3. I wonder if you were worn out after just being at that party...that happens to me after I bring Autumn to a kids party. Hope all goes well this week, and maybe by Thursday it will feel more like spring. Although we're expecting 6-14" of snow tomorrow :( Maybe it'll all blow out to sea :)

  7. I was pretty excited when I saw the robins too. You just know when you see them that winter has lost. I think they should use a robin rather than a ground hog. I never could understand that one.Well enjoy today, I am glad you don't have to drive in that cold drizzle. I hope tomorrow is a better day and I hope Thursday comes fast for you.

  11. It's a nice party idea. I would get sick if I ate that much sugar. The kids could probably just slough it off after a while.

    Love,
    Janie

  18. Your header is beautiful. We've seen robins here, too, the last couple of weeks. That's always a good sign that spring is on the way. The weather forecast for her is freezing drizzle for Wednesday...the first day of spring!

  19. Hey, sweetie Beth :D I had the yen to run over and see what's going on. My, but it's been a long, LONG time, but you still have the best headers in town. That weeping cherry is fabulous.
Is that the sound of retching I hear? Just kidding, but I'll bet a lot of moms had that going on in their homes after the party. Ewww'eeee. When Mom had a 2nd birthday party for me, she also had the camera ready. First shot, I'm in the high chair and all smiles with my favorite cake with frosted animal crackers. 2nd picture I'm still all smiles with a handful and face full of cake. 3rd shot is one sick little girl on top of the cake with the look of death on her face. HAHAHA, I can still remember the feeling and to this day I can't look at an animal cracker.
Beth, I saw way back where Carol's sweet Admiral passed away and I wrote to her on her page but don't know if she ever saw it. Since then I've seen her absolutely beautiful new baby that looks so much like my Lucy and I'm so happy for her. I wrote to her again and hope she saw it. It just might be that she's not talking to me, not sure. So much went on here and I was out of touch with everyone, including my own friends here in town for a number of years. It's taken a long time to pull things together. Well, you don't need to hear any of this mess; I just wanted to run by, see you, read, and tell you that I miss you and all the old crowd.
By the way, I woke up to snow today....just a little, but it had been 60 degrees day before yesterday. Weirdest weather this year.
    Xoxoxo
