Monday Madness…

prevails here this Monday morning.  The washing machine in our area has totally bit the dust and a new one ordered.  It has been over a week now and nothing yet.  So my daughter was kind enough to allow me to take my laundry over to her house this morning.  That took care of the morning.  I do hate lugging laundry around as it is a big pain in the wazoo.

*****

Idiom

up the wazoo, to an extreme degree or in great abundance:  She's got problems up the wazoo.

I am still reeling over my auto repair but I am not in a hurry to buy a different car.  I hate to think of a new car having to sit out with the bird poopiedoop and the dust blowing on it.  So I will hold off on that as long as necessary. No one is to lay a finger on the window controls.

It is a lovely clear cool day to get into the mid 70s.  I am enjoying every minute of it and I hope you all are too.

Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. I remember the days of having to cart clothing around because we didn't live where there was plumbing for w/d. It got old really fast...like after the first time I did it. Hope you get your new one in soon.

  2. That's really irritating about not having a more convenient way for you to wash your things...thankfully you have an option there with your daughter. I had an annoying thing with my car now but I called the garage and I may be eligible to get some very expensive work done free or at a discount...I'm sure praying it works out because it recently had a catalytic converter and a timing belt change...that is some expensive stuff I don't need more on top of all that.

  3. I Pray, cross my fingers, etc. all the time about mine. They are over 10 yrs. old. So far all problems Jack has been able to fix, but I dred the day he can't. Don't blame you the car.

  5. That's no fun to have to haul your laundry around.:( I should have met you half way and done yours with mine today.:)

It is certainly understandable why the window controls are off limits in your car!:) Sometimes it would just be better to have to roll the windows up and down the "old-fashioned" way.:)

I hope your Monday is going well!

  6. It seems something is always biting the dust. These things don't last as long as they used to.

  7. Fourteen years ago I CHOOSE to live in an old summer cabin with no space or hookups even possible for a washer. Little did I know how much I would miss one and there are two of us. Ok...except for the icy winter roads. I know what you mean. I DO!

  8. Well that is a pain about the washer :(. That was so nice of her to let you bring it over, but I agree lugging around laundry is no fun :(

  9. Hi Beth,

Hope soon both washer and car will be sorted.

It is and has been hot and humid here, but think it may be cooler tomorrow.

  12. I hate it when something happens to my washing machine-It can screw up my whole day. I have an old Maytag that runs like a charm after 15 years of daily use. Only one problem ever and that was when it got left in cold storage and one of the computer chips froze...

Okay-I can't TOUCH the windows in your car...but can I talk? xo Diana

  13. For the first 7 years of our marriage I would lug the laundry down the flight of stairs and down a few blocks to the laundry mat...hated it!!!!!
Have a great day Beth...hope that machine comes in soon.

  14. Not having a washing machine is one of my LEAST favorite things. Hope you get yours fixed soon. I am behind on my blog reading, but I totally agree with you about this election. It is an important one to be sure but I jsut wish we had much better choices on both sides! Enjoy your week!

  16. Hi Beth! Sounds like you had quite a day :) When my washing machine has issues it's usually caused by something I've done that I shouldn't have. According to that man I'm married to I'm "hard" on appliances. Imagine that!

  18. I feel your pain. I really really do. Yesterday I had my front tires switched for the tiny amount of 430 dollars and 24 cents. I mean what they heck??!!! Why is does everything cost an arm and leg? Needless to say, I'll be paying that one for awhile. Hang in there. Glad your daughter is nearby to help out with the laundry situation. All my best. Chris

  21. It's such an inconvenience when you have to take laundry elsewhere....our washer and dryer both broke down in June, so I know what you are going through.

Glad you have good weather now.

  22. I started doing my own laundry again last month, and am thrilled! I had to send it out while I recouped. My laundry room is in my basement. I am happy to be able to get things back on track, albeit slowly. I totally understand about the car, too!
Six of one, half-a-dozen of another!

  23. That really is a pain in the wazoo, having to cart your washing around, well at least you do have your car to save your legs, glad the weather is cooler for you Beth. keep smiling

  24. I hate lugging it across the house to the laundry room, let alone to a laundromat or to my daughter's house. Hope that washing machine is fixed soon.

  25. What's a wazoo? Need further clarification please. Can you show me a picture of your wazoo????

  26. Well, I am glad that your daughter let you do your laundry at her place. We wouldn't (or would we) want you to have to run around in your birthday suit. Then you would have to blog about that and we'd have to put a XXX rating here on your space. :)

To repair the vehicle... or to buy another. Tough decision. But you'll make the best decision for you in time

  27. Oh I just hate when everything goes at once. In January, it was the stove, then the fridge, then the dryer, and now my car is going in to the garage to the tune of a grand. I'm none too pleased. Oh, and the fridge is still limping along, only working with constant supervision. It's definitely what you said. ☺
