Another beautiful…

day is in store for us right here in the heart of Illinois.  It is 55 degrees and bright sunshine right now.  Still no rain in sight and we are still almost 9 inches below normal on precipitation for this year.  However, the rain we got last week has helped to green things up a bit and make the weeds less noticeable.  Fall is right around the corner.

I have been weeding through my enormous photo collection that I have on my computer which amounts to several thousand.

Here is a picture taken in October 2005 at the flower garden in Urbana close to the University of Illinois campus.  This was a beautiful place to visit and you could gather seeds if you wanted to.  I remember the fall was beautiful that year.  Jim had received his first round of chemo and he was in remission at the time.   We were making the most of the time we spent together.

I hope this day is filled with sunshine for you.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. That's a lovely flower garden. I have a ton of photos on my computer too. It's so easy to take a lotwith a digital camera compared to how it used to be when using film.

  2. Loaded a lot of mine onto discs so I can keep them safe. Love the garden, I miss having my own and fresh tomatoes. Sad the summer is waning. I enjoyed "most" of it. Ha. We will have a nice day here to do outside work. Love it. XXOO

  6. There was another fire here that destroyed a home...I've never seen a drought like this one. It's still in the nineties for us most days. I have got to wonder what fall and winter will be this year at this rate. Love the picture you have there. Archives can be fun to go through. Bless you my friend.

  22. When it comes to photographs, I would much rather be behind the camera lens rather than in front of it. I do not personally enjoy seeing photos of me for the most part, but I feel like my kids and grandkids will want to see me in photos when I am long gone. Just like I really enjoy looking at old photos of my mother, father, grandparents, etc. So I force myself to be in photos now. I do a lot of self timer photos to make sure that we are ALL in the shot. Enjoy your photos... enjoy the memories that they hold.
