My photo of the month…

This tree is between my house and the cemetery.  It is very old and parts of it is dead.  I just hope the cemetery association doesn’t decide to cut it down before I get all 12 photos.

This photo was taken on 4 January 2012 at 10:00 AM.

It is a beautiful bright sunshiny day out.  The temp is up to 34 degrees already.  A welcome change after the bitter cold and wind of the last few days.  Tomorrow it is to be in the 50s.  C’mon Spring!!  The countdown to Spring has begun.  Only 76 more days!!

I made a quick run to the store this morning.  School is back in session so the traffic is lighter and the stores are not so crowded.  Hooray for school.  lol

Let’s see, on my agenda for today??  Maybe clean a little bit.  Definitely need to make some phone calls.

Do stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. That's a grand old tree! Subjects like that are about my favorite. Our backyard view is still one of my favorites however right now it's pretty bland...no snow and so it's quite brown and dead back there. We've got our midweek service to attend tonight so that will be the highlight of the day. Bless you my friend.

  2. I hate seeing trees cut down even tho it has to be done sometimes. I'd love to see the Giant Redwoods up close and personal someday.
Yay, only 76 more days!!! CAn't wait!

  3. I love it that you have chosen the tree as your 12 month photo documentary. I'm facinated by trees. Also, I'm reminded of the Joyce Kilmer Poem. Thank you.

  4. Oh, I hope they don't decide to cut it down this year! Quite majestic. :)

Been a little warmer up here, too. Crazy weather for January. Hope you have a really good day no matter what you decide to do. :)

  6. Okay, so you are taking a picture of the same thing once a month? To see how much it changes? If that's the case, I'll do it too, with my Carleigh's tree - and will take a picture on the 8th of every month. You will LOVE the April picture. *grin*

  7. Sis I can see why you chose it. Wonderful shot and with the wide open background it will be very nice come spring and fall. Yes I do hope they do not cut it down too. Here it is warmer and we are thankful. The bitter cold is gone and the wind with it. I hope to get around to checking in on some people so must get going..
Hope your day was a nice one!

  8. There is something stately about a tree with no leaves - they are baring all I guess. Neat idea to do a picture a month. Ours are so large now that I don't know where I'd stand to get the entire tree in the photo.

  15. Now why would they want to cut down such a lovely specimen, do you know what it is,? it looks a bit like a lime to me, if it is, it will grow a lot taller, but till the leaves come out it maybe a mystery, I have a lime in the garden, maybe I could do the same thing, Methinks you have set a trend here Beth, a very interesting one too.
