Let it snow…

Since I don’t have any choice in the matter, bring the snow on.  It would be nice though if it would wait until after I have been to the pharmacy.  Yes, we are supposed to get our first measureable snow today, about an inch.  The western part of the state might get a little bit more.  Perhaps if my old high school classmate is reading  this he could send me an email telling me how much snow they get in the Macomb area.  Thanks RB.

The urge has hit me.  I am going to put out my two little Christmas trees this morning and do some cleaning.  Then I got word yesterday that I have been invited to the cookie exchange again this year.  This year it is 8 dozen cookies divided into portions of 6.  I have the pretty paper plates and decorated zip lock bags, now I have to decide on the perfect cookie that I want to make 8 dozen of.   BUT!!!   I will be coming home with 8 dozen different kinds of cookies.  Unfortunately it will be the day after my son is coming home for our  Christmas with him.  My son is the one I bake the goodies for.  I don’t indulge in them much, just one or two when I am making the cookies.

It was fun reposting an old blog from 2006.  Most of the time it was nice working at the AFB.  I met some lovely military there that I will never forget and a few not so nice military that I would like to forget, namely a Captain and a Major.  Maybe later on I will delve back into the past and recall a few of the things that happened between 1979 and 1989.

Gotta go get busy now.  You all stay safe and be happy.

Beth

  1. I like making peanut butter cookies, because they are easy, and no matter what I do, I can't mess them up. It always seems like others I make are too runny, spread out all over the pan, and look terrible. LOL

  2. Hope the snow stays away form GB - I'd like to get a lot of errands done this week. Yum - cookies. Wish I had the energy to bake them - guess I'll have to find a good bakery this year.

  3. Oh goodness! Haven't done a cookie exchange for years. They are always fun. But your son will miss out? Darn!

I hope the snow waits until you get back from the pharmacy and that you think of a special cookie recipe.

Fun to hear about your life. Any time! ;)

  4. Yikes Sis that is a lot of cookies! Hope you find a way to distribute them among friends, there is always neighbors around who might not bake I guess. NOT baked a thing yet..not in the mood I guess. Don't want to eat them so don't bake them is a good motto. One inch of snow is really not bad..maybe it will melt away and by Thursday it will be clear again. I only worry over 8 or 10 now that is a real disaster. LOL Take care

  7. It's been a cookie season around here too. Mom made some cookies that my grandma used to make that were great then last night some snicker doodles! I somehow think they won't last long! Our three trees are up and have been since before Thanksgiving...it's a relief for me to get it done early because it's my back that has to drag those suckers up the stairs! We put up at least two trees...the main one upstairs then the one downstairs for the kids...it's work but well worth it. It looks pretty brown out there for us but you never know...this is Montana after all.

  8. I would love to do a cookie exchange but the only bad thing is I bring home cookies ... lol. I do good with baking and giving away :).

P.S. You can move in anytime I would love the company and someone to cook for that appreciates it!

  9. Reading memories of others is so nice. Helps you see what make you, you. My daughter-in law has a cookie baking thing and she brings them with her so I don't have all those temptations around.

  15. Hi Beth that sounds really fun Cookie exchange , I have never heard of that before a brilliant idea. Hope you don't get too much Snow , but what will be, will be. It does brighten up the place putting up decorations especially on these dark gloomy days. Mind you having said that , the Snow tends to brighten things up actually. It's just the aftermath. Enjoy your day Beth Hugs Sheila and Wile-e xx
